Architecture & Interior Design Part A/Feb. 15, 2022

After finding property I began the exhilarating process of Home Design. So much fun! I knew the style of home I wanted which made the process of finding an Architect and Interior Designer easier. I knew the style of home I wanted which made the process of finding an Architect and Interior Designer easier. I looked at the designs of homes on various Architect websites in the town I was building in and found Valdez Architects who focuses on the style of home I wanted. Keep in mind Most Architects are busy and you may have a lead time before getting on their schedule. We agreed on the design price and home budget and off we went.

I gave some basic requirements for my home such as square footage, number of rooms, some basic ideas like open floor plan, no steps and general aesthetics but from there I let Freddie Valdez (Architect) and Andrea Valdez (Interior Design) create a masterpiece.

Freddie took into consideration the geography of the land with an eye to fitting the home into the land, keeping the beauty of the washes, saving as many trees as possible and maximizing the views. Freddie and Andrea are artists at heart and the key to getting a true vision is to let them work their magic unfettered by too much input.  I found I had to trust their expertise and experience to come up with a truly inspired vision.  Design by committee can give you a watered-down result that may cater to everyone but in the end lacks uniqueness.
